Managing calls from your browser just became more flexible.
Tekmatix now gives you greater control over which audio devices you use when making and receiving calls through the Web Dialler.
You can choose your preferred speaker for call audio, select the microphone you want to use, and even configure an additional device to ring at the same time.
This is particularly useful if you work with multiple audio devices, such as a headset and computer speakers, and want to make sure you never miss an incoming call.
Audio Device Settings allow you to control how call audio, ringing and microphone input are handled when using the Tekmatix Web Dialler.
Instead of relying solely on your browser or computer's default audio devices, you can select the devices you want to use directly from the dialler.
You can configure:
Your main speaker for call audio
An additional device for incoming call ringing
Your preferred microphone
Different audio devices depending on your workspace setup
This gives you more control over your calling experience without having to constantly change your computer's system-wide audio settings.
To configure your audio devices:
Open the Web Dialler in Tekmatix.
Click the gear icon in the dialler header.
Open the audio settings.
Select the devices you want to use for calls.
Test your devices before saving your settings.
From here, you can configure your speaker, ringing device and microphone.
Your main speaker is the device Tekmatix uses for call audio.
For example, you might choose:
A USB headset
Bluetooth headphones
Your computer speakers
An external speaker
Select the device you want to use from the available speaker options.
Tekmatix also provides a test option so you can preview the selected speaker and confirm that audio is working correctly before saving your settings.

One of the most useful additions is the ability to have an additional device ring when you receive a call.
For example, you could use your headset for the actual conversation while also having your desk speakers ring when an incoming call arrives.
This can be helpful if you regularly take your headset off between calls or work in an environment where you might not immediately hear the headset ringing.
Simply select the additional ringing device from your audio settings.
You can also test this device before saving your configuration.

You can also select which microphone Tekmatix should use during your calls.
This could be:
Your headset microphone
Your laptop microphone
A USB microphone
Another connected audio input device
When selecting your microphone, Tekmatix displays a live volume meter.
Speak into your microphone and watch the meter respond. This allows you to quickly confirm that the correct microphone is selected and that Tekmatix is receiving audio from it.

The Audio Settings feature is currently available through Tekmatix Labs, so it may need to be activated before you can use it.
To enable it:
Go to Agency Settings.
Open Labs.
Look for Audio Settings for Voice Calls.

Click Activate Feature.
Select the locations where you want the feature enabled.
Bulk enable the feature for those locations if required.

Once enabled, users in the selected locations can access the new audio controls from the Web Dialler.
For the full audio device selection experience, Chrome or Edge is recommended.
Safari currently supports only one audio output device, which means you won't have the same level of control over multiple output devices when using the Web Dialler.
If you want to configure separate call audio and ringing devices, use Chrome or Edge.
This update makes browser-based calling in Tekmatix much easier to adapt to different working environments.
It can help you:
Make sure calls ring through a device you can easily hear
Use a headset for private conversations while ringing through external speakers
Select the correct microphone without changing your computer's global audio settings
Test your audio setup before making or receiving calls
Quickly confirm that your microphone is detecting sound
For teams that spend a significant amount of time making and receiving calls through Tekmatix, these controls can create a much smoother calling experience.
With Audio Device Settings for the Web Dialler, you can customise your calling setup to match the way you actually work.
Choose your preferred speaker, configure an additional ringing device, select your microphone and test everything before your next call.
If you don't see the feature yet, check Tekmatix Labs and make sure Audio Settings for Voice Calls has been activated for your location.
