SMS Rates
you can send SMS's internationally, however for American and Canadian numbers you will need to apply for A2P and verify your number.

Important Information regarding structuring your SMS's
The way you structure your texts can have a huge bearing on the cost. It's important to understand how Twilio charges for text messaging. Where possible you want to stay within 1 x segment which means you will incur the cost of 1 x SMS at the current rate.
If you can, it's best to avoid the use of emojis!
We all love to use them but that changes the 'structure' of the SMS and therefore Twilio changes the encoding from GSM to USL and it will cost you a lot more to send a text. Without the 'flame emoji's this text is 2 x segments (or the cost of 2 x SMS's) with the flames it's 4 segments, equal to the cost of 4 x SMS's
Before you send any SMS campaigns, check the structure and cost estimate below by typing your SMS message in the box, it will automatically calculate your segments, 1 x segment charged at the rate of 1 x SMS, 2 segments 2 x SMS's etc.,
Handy tip: if you have a long website link that you are including in your SMS that you want them to 'click' you can shorten it to a) look better and b) save characters just change it to a bit.ly link by creating one here - they are free!
