Navigate to Settings:
Go to Payments > Documents & Contracts > Settings > Team Notifications.
Turn on Notification:
Toggle Document Viewed ON to receive an email when your document is first viewed by any recipient.
(Optional) Customize the Email Notification:
Subject: Change to something like “Your Document Was Just Viewed!”
Body: Add helpful details and include {{Preview URL}} so your team can quickly review the document.
📩 You’ll only receive one alert for the very first view—across all recipients.
If your document has multiple recipients and you want a notification every time someone views it, you can automate it using a workflow:
Go to Automated Workflows > Workflows > Create Workflow.
Use the trigger:
Documents & Contracts > Document Viewed (Status = Viewed)
Add your desired action(s), such as:
Send Email
Notify via Slack or SMS
Assign Task
Scenario:
Anna, a sales rep, sends a service agreement to a potential client. She enables the Document Viewed notification in Tekmatix.
Just an hour later, she gets an email: "Your document was just viewed."
Anna immediately follows up with a friendly email offering to answer any questions. The client replies that everything looks good—and signs the contract the same day.
Without this alert, Anna might have waited too long to follow up and risked losing momentum.
Pair this notification with a workflow that assigns a follow-up task or sends a personalized email to the recipient. That way, no lead goes cold—and your team stays on top of every opportunity.
