Keeping your CRM notes focused, clean, and easy to manage is crucial for productive workflows. With Tekmatix Notes Association, you can now link notes specifically to a Contact, an Opportunity, or both. This ensures relevant context is preserved, reduces clutter, and helps your team work more efficiently.
In a busy CRM, notes can quickly become disorganized if every interaction—deal-related or general customer communication is lumped together. Notes Association allows you to:
Separate Communication: Keep opportunity notes distinct from general contact notes.
Maintain Focus: Link notes to the right entity for improved clarity.
Streamline Workflows: Filter and search notes efficiently.
Support Collaboration: Teams can quickly find context-specific information.
How Notes Association Helps:
The rep links each note to either the Contact or the relevant Opportunity, or both if needed.
When reviewing the deal later, the team can filter to see only Opportunity-specific notes without unrelated customer interactions.
This ensures precise, actionable insights are always available and reduces confusion in collaborative workflows.
Open a Contact or Customer Journey record.
Click the Notes tab.


Click + Add Note.


Enter your note as usual.
Use the Associate With dropdown to select:
Contact
Opportunity
Both
Click Save to store the note.
Focus on relevant notes quickly using filters:
Go to the Notes tab under a contact or opportunity.
Click the Filter icon.

Select your view:
All Notes
Contact-only Notes
Opportunity-only Notes
Notes associated with both
Filters ensure you only see the notes that matter for your current workflow.
Contacts View: See notes linked to the contact, including shared opportunity notes.
Customer Journey View: View only notes associated with the specific opportunity.
Q: Will existing notes be affected?
A: No, current notes remain unchanged. Association applies only to new notes.
Q: Can a note link to multiple opportunities or contacts?
A: Not yet. Each note can link to one contact and one opportunity at a time.
Q: Can I change a note’s association after saving?
A: Currently, you would need to duplicate the note and assign it to the new entity.
Q: Does this work on mobile?
A: Mobile support is coming in a future release.
Q: What happens if a contact or opportunity is deleted?
A: Notes are deleted only if all associated entities are permanently removed.
