Want website visitors to have more natural, real-time voice conversations with your AI?
Tekmatix Chat Widgets now support native Speech-to-Speech (S2S) Voice AI agents, allowing you to connect an S2S agent directly to your website Chat Widget alongside your existing Voice AI agents.
This means your website visitors can initiate an AI-powered voice conversation directly from your Chat Widget, while Tekmatix automatically handles the appropriate voice experience behind the scenes.
Even better, if you already have a Voice AI agent connected to a Chat Widget, upgrading that agent to a supported Speech-to-Speech model may require no changes to your website embed code at all.
Speech-to-Speech Voice AI allows an AI agent to process spoken conversations more directly, creating a faster and more natural conversational experience.
Instead of requiring completely separate configurations for traditional Voice AI and Speech-to-Speech agents, Tekmatix now brings both agent types together within the same Chat Widget configuration.
When a website visitor starts a call, Tekmatix automatically recognises which type of Voice AI agent has been selected and launches the appropriate voice experience.
Both existing Voice AI agents and supported Speech-to-Speech agents are now available from the same Agent dropdown inside the Chat Widget builder.
There is no need to create separate widgets simply because you are using a different type of Voice AI technology.
Once an agent has been selected, the Chat Widget automatically identifies whether it is an existing Voice AI agent or a Speech-to-Speech agent.
When a visitor starts a call, Tekmatix launches the correct voice experience automatically.
You do not need to configure separate calling interfaces or create different embed codes.
If you already use Voice AI inside a Tekmatix Chat Widget, you do not need to change anything.
Your existing agents and widgets will continue working as normal.
There are no required changes to the Chat Widget interface or existing website embed code.
This is particularly handy if you already have Voice AI widgets installed across one or more websites.
If an existing Voice AI agent is changed to a supported Speech-to-Speech model, any Chat Widgets already connected to that agent will automatically use the new voice experience.
That means you do not need to:
Re-save the Chat Widget
Reinstall the widget
Replace your website embed code
Create a new agent ID
Manually update every page where your widget is installed
The existing connection remains in place.
The visitor-facing calling experience remains familiar.
Chat Widget voice calls continue to support:
Two-way audio
Mute and unmute controls
Call status
End-call controls
Visitors therefore get the benefits of Speech-to-Speech technology without having to learn a new interface.
Tekmatix also keeps performance in mind.
The Speech-to-Speech SDK is loaded only when a website visitor actually initiates a call with an S2S agent.
This means the additional S2S functionality does not need to load every time somebody visits a page containing your Chat Widget.
Regular Chat Widget loads and existing Voice AI calls remain unaffected.
Here’s how to set it up.
First, enable Speech-to-Speech Voice AI through Labs inside your Tekmatix account.
Once enabled, you will have access to the supported S2S functionality available within Voice AI.

You can then either:
Create a new Speech-to-Speech Voice AI agent, or
Switch an existing Voice AI agent to a supported Speech-to-Speech model
If you switch an existing agent, you can continue using the same agent connection in your Chat Widget.

Navigate to your Chat Widget settings inside Tekmatix.
Open the widget you want to connect to your Voice AI agent.
Go to the Agent section.
You will now see supported Voice AI and Speech-to-Speech agents together within the unified agent dropdown.
Select the agent you want website visitors to interact with.

Save your changes.
That’s it.
When a website visitor initiates a voice call through the Chat Widget, Tekmatix will automatically determine which voice technology the selected agent uses and launch the appropriate experience.
If your Chat Widget is already connected to an existing Voice AI agent and you switch that same agent to a supported Speech-to-Speech model, your existing widgets update automatically.
You do not need to re-save the Chat Widget, re-embed the widget on your website or create a new agent ID.
This can make upgrading much easier if you have the same agent deployed across multiple webpages, funnels or websites.
Cloning works slightly differently.
A cloned agent is treated as a new agent.
If you create a clone and configure the cloned version as your Speech-to-Speech agent, you will need to return to the Chat Widget builder and select the new cloned agent from the Agent dropdown.
Save the widget once the new agent has been selected.
Your existing embed code can then continue displaying the widget with the newly selected agent.
For businesses using AI to handle leads, enquiries, support or customer conversations, this update creates some powerful opportunities.
Visitors aren't restricted to typing into a chat box.
They can start a voice conversation with your AI agent directly from your website, creating another way for prospects and customers to engage with your business.
Your Voice AI strategy doesn't have to stop at telephone calls.
Speech-to-Speech agents can also form part of your website customer journey, giving people another way to interact with your AI-powered business systems.
Businesses with existing Chat Widgets can introduce supported S2S capabilities without replacing widget embed codes or rebuilding website sections.
That becomes particularly useful when you have widgets installed across multiple pages or websites.
With traditional Voice AI and Speech-to-Speech agents available within the same agent selector, you don't need completely separate Chat Widget setup processes.
Choose your agent and Tekmatix handles the appropriate voice experience.
Because the S2S technology is loaded only when someone initiates an S2S call, you gain additional voice functionality without unnecessarily loading those resources during every standard widget visit.
Speech-to-Speech Voice AI could be particularly useful for businesses that want to automate conversations such as:
New lead qualification
Frequently asked questions
Customer enquiries
Appointment enquiries
Product or service information
Course and membership enquiries
Sales conversations
Customer onboarding
Basic support conversations
After-hours enquiries
The goal isn't simply to add AI because AI is exciting.
The real opportunity is to make it easier for your prospects and customers to get the information they need, in the communication format they prefer, while reducing the amount of repetitive manual work your team has to handle.
Speech-to-Speech Voice AI support within Chat Widgets is available for accounts with Speech-to-Speech Voice AI enabled through Labs.
Existing Voice AI agents and Chat Widgets remain compatible.
If you already have a Chat Widget installed, your existing embed snippet does not need to be replaced simply to support the new S2S functionality.
And if an existing connected agent is upgraded to a supported Speech-to-Speech model, Tekmatix can automatically use the new experience without requiring you to re-embed your widget.
Your website doesn't have to be a static collection of pages waiting for somebody to complete a form.
With Tekmatix Chat Widgets and Speech-to-Speech Voice AI, your website can become an interactive point of conversation where prospects and customers can speak directly with an AI agent.
And because Voice AI, websites, funnels, CRM, workflows, conversations and automation can all work together inside Tekmatix, those conversations can become part of a much bigger automated customer journey.
