Tekmatix Update: Critical Emails Will Now Be Delivered to DND Contacts

August 11, 20263 min read

If a customer has been marked as Do Not Disturb, or DND, inside Tekmatix, certain essential emails can now still be delivered.

Tekmatix has updated its email delivery logic so that important transactional and operational communications are not accidentally blocked by a contact’s DND settings.

This means customers can continue receiving critical information such as invoices, appointment updates and important system notifications, while marketing emails continue to respect their DND preferences.

What’s Changed?

Three types of critical emails can now be delivered even when a contact is marked as DND:

  1. Payment and invoice emails

  2. Calendar notifications

  3. System notifications

These communications are treated differently from promotional or marketing emails because they often contain information a customer needs in order to complete a transaction, attend an appointment or manage their account.

Why Has This Changed?

Previously, marking a contact as DND could also prevent these important emails from being delivered.

That meant a customer could potentially miss things such as:

  • An invoice or payment notification

  • An appointment confirmation

  • A calendar update or reminder

  • An important system-generated notification

For businesses, this could create unnecessary confusion and additional support work.

For customers, it could mean missing information they genuinely need.

Tekmatix now separates these essential operational emails from regular marketing communications so that critical information can still reach the customer when required.

Does DND Still Block Marketing Emails?

Yes.

This update does not remove or override a contact’s DND preference for normal marketing communications.

Marketing and promotional emails will continue to respect DND settings as they did previously.

The exemption only applies to:

  • Payment and invoice emails

  • Calendar notifications

  • System notifications

So this is not a blanket bypass of DND settings.

It simply allows essential transactional and operational communications to continue being delivered.

What Does This Mean for Your Business?

For most Tekmatix users, there is nothing you need to change.

The updated email delivery logic helps reduce the likelihood of customers missing important operational information simply because they have opted out of marketing communications.

For example, a customer may no longer want to receive newsletters or promotional campaigns from you, but they may still need to receive:

  • An invoice for something they purchased

  • Details about an appointment they booked

  • A notification relating to an important account or system activity

Tekmatix can now handle these communications separately.

Marketing Preferences Still Matter

It is important to continue using DND settings correctly when managing your contacts and marketing campaigns.

If someone has opted out of promotional communication, their preference should continue to be respected.

This update simply creates a clearer distinction between optional marketing communication and essential service-related communication.

Another Small Update That Makes Tekmatix Easier to Run Your Business With

These kinds of behind-the-scenes improvements may seem small, but they can make a significant difference to the day-to-day running of your business.

Your customers can receive the information they need.

Your marketing opt-outs remain respected.

And you have less chance of dealing with missed invoices, appointment confusion or customers wondering why an important notification never arrived.

One less thing for you to manually chase, fix or worry about inside your business.
